Innovative method of preparing high-quality cytological slides at low cost
Cytoclinik commercializes the Kabcyt® filtration method as an alternative to the usual filtration techniques in the conventional Pap Test method used to detect the presence of any sign of HPV infection or precursor lesions of cervical cancer.
Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer among women globally and causes more than 300,000 deaths yearly. However, it can be cured efficiently if diagnosed and treated at an early stage. The first cause of cervical cancer is the human papillomavirus (HPV) which is responsible for the appearance of cancerous cells in the cervix.
The Pap Test is often used to detect the presence of any sign of HPV infection. A Pap Test is performed by collecting cells from the patient’s cervix. The collected cells are placed in a preserving liquid. Then, the cells are usually filtered with a machine and deposited on a slide before being examined under a microscope to look for abnormalities. The machines used to filter the cells are usually sophisticated and therefore very expensive, that’s why many laboratories cannot afford them.
Cytoclinik has developed the Kabcyt® solution which comes with a method of preparing cytological slides based on an innovative filtering method. Unlike most filtering techniques, the method developed by Cytoclinik doesn’t require the use of a sophisticated machine to obtain high quality slides.
The Kabcyt® filtration device is intended to be used in the screening for the presence of atypical cells or its precursor lesions as well as for the detection of any sign of HPV infection.
This solution aims at improving the cost of all liquid-based cytology screening methods. Our goal is to guarantee reliability, cost effectiveness and flexibility in the cytological slides preparation.
